The HAPEI Campus Peace Ambassadors initiative is a youth-led peacebuilding and sustainable development programme that empowers students to become advocates, peer educators, and champions of peace, inclusion, responsible digital citizenship, and positive social change within their campuses and wider communities.

The initiative recognizes that campuses are important spaces for shaping the next generation of leaders. By equipping students with practical knowledge and skills in conflict resolution, dialogue, leadership, peace education, civic engagement, responsible digital citizenship, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), HAPEI enables young people to take an active role in creating safer, more inclusive, and sustainable learning environments.

Campus Peace Ambassadors serve as peer advocates and change agents, identifying opportunities to promote constructive dialogue, address conflict peacefully, encourage respect and inclusion, and mobilize their peers around peacebuilding and sustainable development activities. They also promote responsible digital citizenship by encouraging students to use digital platforms ethically and constructively, recognize and challenge misinformation, communicate respectfully online, and avoid using technology to spread hate, violence, bullying, or harmful content.

Through training, peer engagement, dialogue, awareness campaigns, and student-led initiatives, the programme creates a network of young leaders who are equipped to practice peace, promote the SDGs, navigate digital spaces responsibly, and inspire positive action within their communities.

Our Impact

Through the Campus Peace Ambassadors initiative, HAPEI:

  • Builds a network of young people committed to advancing peace, justice, inclusion, and sustainable development on and beyond their campuses.

From Campus Leaders to Changemakers

We believe that the peacebuilders and development leaders of tomorrow are already on our campuses today.

By investing in students and giving them the knowledge, voice, and platform to lead, HAPEI is nurturing a generation of young people who can influence their peers, shape campus culture, advance the Sustainable Development Goals, and contribute to peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities.
